Hello everyone

BYD just been opened here in Bahrain, and I found the F3 which I got admired of it, I then bought it, now I'm waiting to receive it soon when it they finish its registration,

I know that BYD F3 has a Mitsubishi engine, so is it possible to find alternative parts from a Mitsubishi dealer, if my agent run out of stock?

Is there a chart or a refrence sheet that I may get alternative part number from?

How about the other parts? suspension, brake system, electrical parts?

Thanks, I appreciate you quick respond ..

Hi guys,

I did a research and found that BYD F3 comes with two engines and gearboxes, the first engine is the 4G15 witch has a diplacement of 1.5L the second is the 4G18 with a displacement of 1.6L, the one I have is the second engine which is 1.6L and with a manual gearbox, but both engines without carburetor, and without ignition distributor rotor, which discard some mechanical part, and add some electrical parts which are Crank position sensor and cam position sensor, which these improvement limits the compatability of matching between Mitsubishi parts to fit into BYD 4G15 Engine.

Hey, BYD F3, how are you?
good to hear that you will be the proud owner of chinese car.
before giving you the info about alternative spare parts - please note:
unless your car is bought officially - you have a great opportunity to use and be covered by WARRANTY. i don't have any idea about terms in Bahrein, let it be 2 years and 50.000 km of run.
Within this period of time you and the supplier have different liabilities between both of you. They must replace for free all malfunctions appeared to be manufacture made. You must go through all Technical Maintenance stages. You cannot install spare parts, accessories which are not certified, not original, not approved by official supplier.
But if you don't have a warranty, or supplier fails to provide it - you always can cancel warranty agreement and use your own service with own spare parts.
Most of it are available from third party suppliers since BYD F3 is a copycat of Corolla 2002 and engine it use is Mitsubishi 4G.
Here the link to the russian forum about BYD F3 alternative spare parts:

(you need to know basic russian or you always can use Google Translate)

Hope this helps you.
Thanks dear, I realy loved it when I drove it, I had a Ford, but never have drove any car from china, that was a great experiance. BTW, chinese cars has introduced in Bahrain since 6 years ago by a reputed Agents, and it was Greatwall motors, they sold it in a very competitive prices, and people here amazed by them. Well, the agent provide either 3 years or 60'000 KM warranty, but he's new in the market and does not have such experiance in motor vehicle field, so he might success or fail, but he's doing fine in sales, i will maintain my vehicle in the Agency until my warranty finishes, thanks for the link.
