In the first two months of 2019, Al-Amal Auto sold 577 units of the BYD F3 in Egypt, placing it second among locally assembled sedans and sixth overall. Of these, 355 were sold in January (by comparison, the S5 SUV sold just 13 units in two months). In 2018, annual sales were 6,893 units.

BYD started assembling the first F3 way back in late 2009. This was then replaced by the L3, which had been a pretty popular Chinese car in the Middle East. The version of the F3 currently assembled in Egypt is the second generation.
The third-generation F3 (3B) has just been upgraded to China-VI standards and renamed as "Value" (超值) edition, previously "Exclusive". The price has been reduced by around 8,000 RMB from 2018 levels, so it could have been decontented compared to the 2018 edition.
The F3 lineup as of today consists of two models, Value and Classic (the latter also upped to China-VI last year). Both come with 5-speed manual transmission only.
The second-generation F3 (3A) known as Elite or Fashion since 2018 is no longer listed; however, NDRC has approved a China-VI version of this model too, so it may be reintroduced in the coming days.
