Byd Auto, a privately owned Chinese automobile manufacturer introduced its new F8 sportscar earlier this week.
It is the first Chinese vehicle with independent intellectual property rights which comes with an electrically operated hardtop. With the touch of the button it can be opened or closed in 25 seconds.
The 4,5 meter long cabrio-coupe features electric windows, DVD player, Bluetooth capabilities, ABS and four airbags.
The company estimates a price of around RMB 200,000 but it is not known when the car will be on the market.

I'm shocked. I don't know what to think about this. Obviously it's a Renault Megane CC rear and CLK/SL front put together.

They should export it. Anyone that wants a Benz convertible but can't afford one might buy the F8. Just take the BYD logo off and put a Benz logo on it and no one can tell the it's not a benz. I like the red alloy wheels, ANy word on what the displacement/kw(hp) of the engine is going to be?

Yeah, the front end is definetely SL-class(minus the class), but the rear end is more Opel/Vauxhall Astra than Renault Mégane CC. Anyway, the color scheme is really tacky,maybe its just a chinese thing(if you don't believe me, the Citroën Elysée-a China only model- is available with a black interior with hot pink upholstry, i'm sorry, even barbie wouldn't buy this car).

But it's no strange that BYD did such a job, the company began its business by copying Toyota Corolla, it's just that this time, they change it to Benz. Hope to see its own designs in the future.

Concidering it's a rip off, it's ugly. BYD has got to get it's act together, I heard their factories are horrible. They even have to drive completed cars carfully around ones that have defects and are waiting to be fixed.
