The BYD e3 is a passenger-carrying (usually 7 seat) version of the pure electric T3. It is not available for general sale, and has only been produced on order for fleet use. Last November, Sanya (Hainan) Public Transportation Group commissioned 28 units as micro-buses on five public route lines. The BYD e3 is powered by a 160 kW motor producing 310 Nm of torque, is equipped with a 48 kWh battery pack, has a range of 250 km and a top speed of 130 km/h.
The cargo-carrying T3 (electric only) remains on sale, with single- or double-row seating.
BYD had a low-key (re)launch of the electric M3 in Beijing in March, along with two updated versions of the T3 cargo. The 7-seat M3 is powered by a 100 kW motor, is equipped with a 50.3 kWh battery, and has an NEDC range of 360 km. At the time of launch it was priced at 149,900 RMB post-subsidy.
No prices announced. Possibly BYD India will approach government agencies which are beginning to promote electric mobility and cargo fleet operators to familiarize them with the products.
The T3 and M3 are now also offered in Nepal, Uruguay, and Singapore (T3 cargo only).
