Chinese manufacturer to exhibit commercial-vehicle range at big SA show

Newcomer to the local market Chana South Africa (CSA) has announced that it will be participating in the Auto Africa vehicle show to be held later this month.

CSA general sales manager Trevor Thomas says the company will be exhibiting its current commercial-vehicle range.

“We aim to give the public a glimpse of the . . . products Chana will be bringing to market. “Based on the initial level of public interest in the Chana brand, we anticipate a large turnout at our stand. “Although we were allocated outdoor exhibit space, we will be constructing an enclosed stand where visitors can interact with our products in an environment that reflects the Chana brand character.” Thomas says a high-level Chinese delegation from the parent Changan Group is also set to visit Auto Africa, as the company views the South African market as strategically important.

He says CSA has already received “many orders for the Chana single- cab launch model”. “We are currently ensuring dealer readiness to accommodate the anticipated flood of interest.” CSS has so far distributed around 300 bakkies to 13 dealerships.
