Chang'an company can be divided into three divisions; 1) Chang'an minivans 2) Chang'an-Ford and 3) Chang'an-Suzuki

Chang'an minivan factory is the main factory and the place where first Chang'an cars were made.

Facts:

- First car made in Chang'an factory was Jeep CJ5 in 1958
- First Suzuki Carry completed in 1982

Production:

In 2003 the whole Chang'an concern manufactured 328 747 cars. This consists of about 200 000 Chang'an minivans, 100 000 Chang'an-Suzuki's and 20 000 Chang'an-Ford's.

Chang'an-Suzuki is the second division of Chang'an. This factory was built in 1993. Suzuki owns 35% of the joint-company. Capacity is 250 000 cars.

Chang'an-Ford is the third division of Chang'an. Ford started this co-operation in 2001. Another factory was built in 2005 in Nanjing.

Ford Focus II

Chinese Mondeo (better looking than it's European sibling)

To be precise there is also a fourth division of Chang'an. Chongqing-Chang'an Kuayue is a joint-venture between Chongqing and Chang'an companies. They have three model series in production; SC1605, SC1021, and SC5021. These are commercial trucks. Also some buses and heavy trucks are manufactured but those are basically Chongqing products. Some light-duty trucks have been exported to North-Africa and Middle East.

ChanAN CM8 is called Changan COMBO here , and costs the same as a A11 ( windcloud ) , I like it but it has a 13" wheels , how come such an MPV ?? has 13" wheels ????

Chang’an making super mega minivan?

Chang'an is developing larger MPV aimed at the business users. It seems Chang’an may well be working with their partner, Suzuki, to bring the Japanese designed, but Indonesian built, Suzuki APV mini van to China.

The Suzuki APV is a 8-seater small rear-wheel drive MPV that runs on a 1.6 aluminium block long stroke engine making 92hp. It is equiped with either 5-speed manual transmission, or 4-speed automatic.

Changan Star Minibus S460

Changan Star Minibus S460 to go on sale in late May.

May 23, 2008 - The new minibus CM9, displayed at the 2008 Beijing auto show last month, is now named Changan Star Minibus S460 and will go on sale at the end of May, said Changan Group.

Changan Star Minibus S460, the second-generation minibus after Changan Star 2, is a newly developed big minibus based on the second-generation minibus platform of Changan Group.

Minibus S460 in fact measures similar to a light bus, with its body width and tread even meeting the standard of a light bus. S460 tops all traditional minibuses and becomes the roomiest minibus in China's minibus market.
