Well, since China's mini-car regulation(4 m) is different from that of Korea(3.5 m max), it makes sense for Chery to try to extend Matiz's wheelbase.

But the problem is, can Chery do it? Matiz was never designed for such an extended wheelbase, and Chery is risking structural integrity problem by stretching Matiz on its own.

Chevy spark cost more than chery QQ and has less options like alloy wheels, tachometer, digital odometer, power windows/door locks, and many others. Chevy spark is ripping people off by giving less options and having higher price tag.

Daewoo has $500 million R&D cost to pay off. Chery doesn't.

This is why auto piracy is bad. Imagine Chery just blew $500 million on its inhouse designed QQ successor that complies with Euro regulations. Do you honestly believe this QQ successor would be as cheap as QQ?
