Well, since China's mini-car regulation(4 m) is different from that of Korea(3.5 m max), it makes sense for Chery to try to extend Matiz's wheelbase.

But the problem is, can Chery do it? Matiz was never designed for such an extended wheelbase, and Chery is risking structural integrity problem by stretching Matiz on its own.
Why are you on a china car forum, if you HATE china? Really you just want to Troll the web. You are most likely on fordlovers.com as "FORD_IS_THE_WORCE" or womensgardenandhome.com as "I_HATE_WOMEN_AND_PUFFS".

eddie-that's a diplomatic way to say it! No, it is true, the one that plays Devil's Advocate sometimes helps to stir the pot up and make the discussion more creative and more of a learning experience for all. Sometimes his comments border on the "hard to believe" type, but, ka cera sera, right?

The problem with I hate etc. was that he never wanted to communicate. He had strong opinions and was not afraid to give them to you, but at the moment you started to discuss, for instance asking him where he based this or that on, he never answered, always avoiding to give any proof for his opinions. He was just like an ballon full of air, with nothing inside.

Russian magazine Autoreview compared Hyundai Getz, Geely King Kong and Chery A1. Not suprisingly Chinese came last.

As there were only three contesters, Chinese media could write (if they decided to summarize the article) that Chinese cars took home silver.

Russians may want foreign cars, but imported cars are more expensive than domestic ones because of import tariffs (just like in China). The Ford Focus and the Renault (Dacia) Logan (numbers five and six respectively in April) are both assembled in Russia. The Daewoo Nexia (number 7) is made by UzDaewooAuto in Uzbekistan and I'd assume that it benefits from a free trade or preferential access agreement between Russia and Uzbekistan.
