Xingtu (星途) is the Chinese brand name for Exeed. Besides the TX, a slightly longer TXL will be made as well. Both versions will get the same engine: a 1.6T producing 145 kW. For now, MIIT has listed only a 5-seat version of the TXL.
TX : 4690 x 1885 x 1706 mm; wheelbase 2715 mm
TXL: 4775 x 1885 x 1706 mm; wheelbase 2800 mm
P.S.: I'm not sure if there was really any need for a facelift at this time, especially this facelift. I think it takes away a lot from of the character of the car and makes it look like some sort of office equipment or kitchen appliance...I dunno, maybe something to shred cabbages with. Purely my personal opinion, though.
But personal opinions (of the public) are what companies like Chery need to be hearing/reading.
This looks like an attempt to create a more bold and daring front end face..., and I love your comparisons with non-automotive machines.
But I agree that the added thick horizontal bar along, with added width, end up looking odd. Seems they were trying to fill some of the blank space adjacent to the sides of original three bar grille..., only to get carried away.
Nowadays coming up with a good looking unique grille is a real challenge, but in a way it's like putting one's best foot forward, and very important to the success of the overall body design.
Well, I guess that as pure EVs gradually take over, our discussion of grilles will end... only to be replaced with a discussion of front fascias. :-o
