Dear friends,

First of all I wish you all a very happy new year!
This is an email to inform you that Tycho de Feyter, Sam Faulkner and I have created an English language website about the rich history of the Chinese automotive industry. We invite you to have a look:
www.chinacarhistory.com.

Many greetings!
Erik (Laofan)

Car News China shutting down

A site we have all depended upon time and again for Chinese auto information, Car News China, is sadly shutting down:
https://carnewschina.com/2018/10/08/goin-home/

My first interactions with Erik and Dragin were on that site itself, in the comments section below articles.

The site will be up but no longer updated, hence we can thankfully utilize that as an archive. Two other sites related to CNC will remain live: ChinaCarHistory and CoolCarsInChina.

[Erik has just posted an article on China Car History]

Not to forget Tycho used to be a member here too:

"History is bunk" was a quote pinned to Henry Ford's legacy, whether or not true.
But I don't think China's Ford, Li Shufu, would agree, since his own personal history is so rich.
I wish Faulkner, deFyter, and Ingen Schenau all the best, with their new website challenge, tracing the history of the Chinese auto industry. Perhaps it's a matter of good collaboration to get the his.., or her, story right.
And of course I wish Tycho smooth sailing to new amazing horizons.
