Last year over 1,5 million commercial vehicles were sold in China of which 236 586 were heavy-duty trucks. Biggest manufacturers in 2005 were:
1. DongFeng: 71 707 trucks
2. FAW: 55 070
3. CNHDT (China National Heavy Duty): 43 876
4. Shaanxi Heavy-Duty: 16 004
5. Beiqi Foton: 15 196
These five makes control over 85 per cent of commercial truck market.
Here are the sales numbers of over 15-ton trucks sold in the first quarter of 2006 (1-3/2006):
1. FAW: 14 709 (22,3%)
2. DongFeng: 14 116 (21,4%)
3. CNHDT: 12 572 (19,1%)
4. Shaanxi Heavy-Duty: 7 039 (10,7%)
5. Beiqi Foton: 5 388 (8,2%)
6. Chongqing HongYan: 5 040 (7,7%)
7. Beifang-Benz: 1 563 (2,4%)
8. Hualing Heavy-Duty: 753 (1,2%)
9. Hubei Sanhuai: 575 (0,9%)
10. Anhui Jianghuai: 408 (0,6%)
11. Chunlan: 363 (0,6%)
others: 3 047 (5,2%)
