Hi all,
I'm Cyril from Paris/France. Happy to meet you on Chinacarforum. Just a while to let you know Chinese cars and France if you are interested in...

So far, no chinese cars in France but will come soon. In the 2006 Paris Motorshow I saw some of them:

Greatwall:

Wingle:

Landwind:

And... that's it. I will let you know for the next one in 2008.

Landwind seems the 1st brand to start. It will be the MPV "Fashion" which may launched in first. Will see...

Bonjour à toi.

In French and Western European minds, to be franck, Chinese cars have not the highest quality level. But I am sure in these next years we will see very competitive cars from China.
25 years ago my father bought a japonese car (Toyota Carina)... everybody looked at him saying that's not good cars... and now Toyota is the 1st carmaker... with a very high quality and reliability.
5 years ago korean cars have been launched on the European market and they found their market... 0.3%... but it is a beginning :D
Chinese cars will do the same.

The only pb will be the gas to be put in :) What gas?

Too many smilies. Not so easy to write

Salut,

c'est amusant, mec....

Tu habites dans quel coin de Paris, Cyril?

It's a shame that in China there are not many French cars. Peugeot tried to sell its 505 assembled in Guangzhou but it failed, leaving Volkswagen ruled Chinese market for like a decade.

Good news is that we see more French cars every time I went back to China, notably Peugeot 307/206, Citroen C4 etc....but my love is loyal to Renault........;)

J'adore Megane!!!! I would like to see more REAL Megane coupé or Five ports hatch-back with her sexy cul...........:D C'est dommage qu'en Chine, les gens en général préfèrent les berlines tricorps.

......j'suis allé trop loin alors...ben...

Well, I would like to see more Chinese brands hit european market and I am so gonna buy a CHERY Tiggo, as my pseudo says all, or Brilliance M3!

I too went to last year's Paris auto show and I got a free copy of presentation DVD and a ball-pen from Greatwall auto.....I have to admit that Chinese cars are not yet on par with their european or japanese counterparts in terms of quality, but we will see.

Toyota, being the world's first auto brand, has much less influence in Europe. I rarely see a Toyota B-segment sedan in Paris, in most cases I see that cute RAV-4 and occasionally some Corolla, that's pretty much all about Toyota in France, not even to mention Honda Accord. I am pleased to see Paris' street is occupied by Renault, Peugeot and Citroen, well hopefully I will see a couple of Chinese brand cars in the future.
