As a resident in China for almost 5 years now, I've come to love a good massage. Any decent hair salon will include a head/neck/shoulder massage after the shampoo but prior to the haircut, and if you want to know the BEST bargain for getting a great massage for a low price.......the "blind men" shops are the places to go. NO jokes here, boys!! In Nanning (and I'm sure in other cities as well) we have a number of shops where the masseuses are blind men - and they do a very professional and courteous job for 20-30 rmb. At the other end of the spectrum, I also occasionally go to the top "spa" style shops for a complete experience (again, NO jokes here boys!!). Top price is about 150 rmb and includes full shower before and after the massage, sauna, hot tub and a 2 hour full body massage (hot towels around the feet and knees, hot water bottle under the back), pedicure and complete facial with herbal cremes and oils (and yes, girls do the massage). You can also choose your "style" of massage - chinese, korean or thai. NO happy endings here at all - this is strictly professional massage.......but VERY refreshing for the body AND the spirit. There are also a lot of professional shops where you can get a 1 hour massage for 50-60 rmb - the fact is that massage is VERY popular and very beneficial. DEFINITELY one of the positive things about living here!!!
