According to just-auto.com, Geely has launched a contest to create a design for a new (and more attractive) logo. The original one landed them in court with Toyota.

The 10 runner ups to the winner will drive away in a "Yuanjing" car. That is apparently another name for the Freedom Cruiser (FC-1).

The question is, how to get their attention once it's created. Maybe someone can offer more details.

I just don't see it. How could Toyota believe that Geely's logo is a copy of theirs? Was it a different Geely logo?

Yes, Trivia Tim. It was a terrible looking logo but resembled Toyota's a bit.
Judge didn't think so though as Toyota lost. In any event Geely gave it up and developed the current one.

Hmm, weird. I can find no other info about this competition. No entry form or restrcitons, no deadlines or design size requirments. Not even a place to submit designs, lol. Does anyone have any more info?

An article on Geely's website reported that there has been a huge response to the contest announcement. Most have been by e-mail, but there have even been some folks showing up at Geely's offices. Here's the e-mail address for submitting an entry:
