Dongfeng Fengon, not Fencon

I have come across some sites/articles where the new English brand name of Fengguang is being reported as "FENCON" in the context of the E3 or the ix5. To set the record straight, the name at the time of this post is FENGON.

Ruichi S513 (rebadge)

Ruichi S513 launched:

Ruichi is one of the brands of Sokon Industry Group, and as mentioned in some other threads, Sokon makes commercial vans under this brand. The logo used on CVs, however, is different. In the SUV's case, Ruichi may even be considered as a sub-brand of Jinkang Auto. The Fengon E3 has also been shown in MIIT's records as Ruichi EV or Ruichi E3 previously.

Re: Dongfeng Fengon E3, Ruichi S513

Autohome's underhood photos look like this E3's got a hybrid powertrain with range extender.
Is that what the EVR acronym (增程智慧型) means?

Yes, the EVR has a range extender. 增程 indicates range extension, 智慧型 is the (mid) trim or variant.

Ascent of the Clones: SERES iX3

Seres iX3, brought to the Chengdu Show just out of the blue, is an extended-range version of the Ruichi S513 and equivalent to the Fengon E3 EVR. The S513 is as of now only a pure electric model but whether the S513 will be shifted to the Seres brand and renamed (i3?) is not known.

iX3 specs, insofar revealed, seem to be the same as the Fengon E3 EVR (120 kW motor, 17.28 kWh battery). BMW might might not be too happy with the name, more so if this is launched earlier on the market!

Dongfeng Fengon 580C/580 GS, Seres ix3

Seres ix3 approved, as both a pure electric vehicle and EREV, under Jinkang license.

Additionally, an ICE variant (1.5 L) of the Fengon E3 with a large grille, which may be called Fengon 580C or 580 GS, has been approved under Dongfeng Sokon license. Of course, this has nothing to do with the existing 580.
