Shanghai, July 16 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Motor Group Co Ltd (0489), the largest listed automobile company in China, plans to launch its first own-brand sedan, the Aeolus S30, in Beijing on July 22, local media reports said.
The automaker said that it has already received more than 5,000 orders for the car since booking started in early June.
The Aeolus S30 will be powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and 5-speed manual transmission developed by its Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën joint venture (JV) or an automatic transmission developed by Japanese supplier Aisin Seiki.
I like the name. It's better then Chery's Riich or Rely or Geely's Gleagle, which may sound good in Chinese, but doesn't sound that well in English.
If Dongfeng wish to import into Australia, then this is the way to go.
Four foreigners living in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, had their first chance to test drive the Dongfeng Fengshen S30 sedan August 30. That was also the first test driving team made up of foreigners living in China.
The Dongfeng Fengshen S30 hatchback measures 4,268 x 1,740 x 1,482 mm with a 2,610 mm wheelbase which is the same length as the S30 sedan.

I really like the thick C pillar treatment, and large rear door window, seen here in this spy photo of DC's. But in the other photos showing the version with the added high tail lights, the rearside looks quite ugly.
