Kia Optima is a mid-size car built by Kia Motors since 2001. The Optima is considered a landmark car for Kia to reach into a new market of executive luxury cars. first generation of optima which is still produced by Dongfeng Yueda Kia Automobile is mechanically identical to the Hyundai Sonata.
For the 2003 model year the styling of the Optima was revamped, featuring twin headlights in a similar pattern to some Mercedes-Benz models. The grille was redesigned for 2004 to feature the Kia badge.
