FAC (FAW Linghe) CAL1030C1DG pickup

NDRC approves pickup for FAW Lingyuan Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (The registered brand is FAW Linghe or FAC). We have seen this same vehicle approved previously under Doda (BAIC Ruili), Projen, and Jiefang/Lanjian (FAW Hongta) brands but none of these editions has been released yet.

[T]here are now two successor companies of the original Linghe auto factory.

The first one is Liaoning Lingyuan Linghe Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. which is the direct successor of the Linghe company. This is affiliated to CASC and is referred to as "Aerospace Linghe". Its enterprise code is "LH" and brand is LINGHE. This too sells trucks and LSEVs.

The second one is FAW Lingyuan Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. This was a result of a JV with FAW in 1993. This is now owned jointly by FAW and [Shanghai] Feihe. Its enterprise code is "CAL" and brand is FAC.

FAC Leishen pickup

FAW Lingyuan Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. soft-launched the new Leishen (雷神) pickup at the end of October, offering 12 variants, with standard and long cargo beds. Engine is a very popular 2.5 TD producing 129 hp. The pickup is a sister model to the T340 and Taga and shares an identical interior (dash) with these pickups as well as with the Lingtuo (low-end D-MAX).

Despite its name, FAW Lingyuan Auto can no longer be considered as part of the FAW Group as Shanghai Feihe Industrial Group currently owns 81.6% of the company. A Liaoning provincial govt. fund owns 14% and FAW only about 4%.

FAC Leishen pickup

Deliveries officially began on December 6, 2018. The Leishen is being made at FAW-Lingyuan's new manufacturing base situated in the recently established "Northern New Energy Automotive Industry City" industrial park in Lingyuan city. (Aerospace Linghe's new factory has also been constructed here, about a mile to the east).
