Guangdong Fudi Automobile Co., Ltd. is the key automobile manufacturing enterprise authorized by National Development and Reform Commission, a new high-tech enterprise, and its production of complete vehicle can be traced back to 1988. Equipped with CNC Machining Center and advanced press line, welding line, coating line and assembly line, covering an area of 360,000.00 m2, which make an annual body production capacity of 300,000 units and complete vehicle 50,000 units, Fudi is the No. 1 punch press center in southern China and one of the biggest automobile production bases in Guangdong. With more than 20% technicians among a total of 2000 employees and strong R&D capability, Fudi is certified by ISO9001:2000 and China Compulsory Product Certification, and wins the national quality credit enterprise. It was big tax-payer consecutively for three years from 2003 to 2005 in the City of Foshan and one of the Top 100 Private Enterprises of Guangdong for two years from 2004 to 2005. It is authorized by government to establish Guangdong Automobile Body Components R&D Center also in 2005.
At present, products of Fudi covers primarily in complete vehicle, automobile body and spare parts. The complete vehicle includes pickup series like Fudi Lion and Little Superman, SUV series Fudi Explorer Ⅱand Explorer Ⅲ, SRV series Fudi Overflight, etc. It has established a perfect national marketing network with more than 200 dealerships and special maintenance stations.
The automobile body covers body components of pickup series, SUV series, SRV series; we have established long-term parts cooperation relationship with many national complete vehicle manufacturing enterprises like FOTON, DONGFENG, GWM, SG AUTOMOTIVE GROUP, CHANGFENG YANGZI, etc., promoting the development of national SUVs and pickups. 16.06.2008 - National Hardware has taken its sale of products to another level with the introduction of a new, competitively priced line of Chinese vehicles to Guyanese customers, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported.

Prime Minister Sam Hinds and Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Manniram Prashad were among the first to witness the company’s new offering launched yesterday at its Lot 1, Ruimveldt Industrial Site location.

Among those present were Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company Edward Boyer, private sector representatives and members of the diplomatic community.

According to the company, the vehicles which are sold at affordable prices to Guyanese customers, include Fudi single and double cab pickups costing about $1.9M duty free), SUVs and JAC freight trucks (costing about 2.6M duty free) fitted with Isuzu and Toyota engines. According to GINA, Hinds lauded the CEO of the company for the intervention, noting that it is one of many ways Guyanese in a developing nation can secure products and services within their financial reach.

Hinds was optimistic that the new vehicles which have been imported from China will find a ready market. He also challenged the CEO to explore the idea of introducing vehicles suited to the rural conditions.

The Minister was also optimistic that the vehicles will be sold “like hot cakes,” as they are already popular in Colombia and neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago.

“This is what the private sector is doing for Guyana. I would like to say that we have a strong and vibrant private sector, considering where we came from… people must understand where the private sector has emerged from and they are getting stronger and stronger,” Minister Prashad said.

Boyer’s idea of introducing such vehicles to Guyana followed his many “comfortable” experiences while travelling in a Fudi vehicle around China. He added that acquiring the vehicles was not an easy task but he was determined after comparing the quality of the vehicles to the other brands.
