I am getting really sick and tired of Geely stupidity now, what is wrong with them, can they not see that it is a Rolls Royce, this is stupid to say the least, downright plagiarism. we already have enough with the Hongqi Rolls Royce and now is the Geely Rolls Royce. For the love of god, this is 2009 already, nearly the end of first decade of 21st century and yet this copying is still running so rampant and wild, ffs no wonder why Chinese auto industry cannot be taken seriously even when they pump out nice concepts.

Geely started out as a cheap copy, and by the looks of it it may not be able to shake the reputation for being little more than a cheap copy.
Do those rear door latch fasteners actually not fit flush to the door as they appear? I don't want to be there when the boss's wife gets out and snags her evening gown on them.

guess what lol , this Geely Rolls Royce is now so "infamous" that CNN even dedicated one video clip about this controversy and a short interview with Rolls Royce rep at the auto show and he was very cross at this and calling a very bad copy. Geely rep on the other hand insists that this is an "original" design, this is a concept to prove that Geely is trying to design a luxury car. Rolls Royce office try to contact Geely for a meeting about this issue but Geely declined to meet them.

The Chery Bentley logo and this Geely GE are the two stain marks of this auto show, so far everything else is good and going smoothly.

Rolls-Royce considers legal action against Chinese copycat

The Geely GE was launched at the Shangai Motor show this week where it was immediately branded a "Phantom knock-off".

The 5.4 metre prototype, painted black and given pride of place on a raised plinth in the middle of Geely's stand is undeniably based on the shape of the Rolls in the shape of its cabin, windows and down-sloping rear deck.

Although Geely claims to be 're-inventing the classic' Rolls-Royce bosses considering their options and have consulted lawyers and say the company is keeping its options open.

"Our colleagues in Shanghai are taking a serious look at it," a spokesman told the Daily Mail. "Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is very protective of its brand image and takes seriously any attempt to imitate its products.

"Rolls-Royce is currently keeping its options open and is in consultation with its legal advisers."

The grille, the Flying Lady mascot, also known as the Spirit of Ecstasy, and the Rolls-Royce name and initials are specifically protected.

With its £250,000 price-tag, the original Rolls-Royce Phantom has always been the preserve of the privileged few.

But costing just £30,000, the GE, which stands for Geely Excellence, appears to offer a 'luxurious mobile palace' on a much tighter budget.

The car comes with an air purifier with separate air conditioning, described as an 'oxygen bar', cigar storage, a refrigerator and a 'starlight' interior roof lining which was a feature of the original Phantom.

too bad for rolls royce, the geely actually looks better on the outside, especially the gold accents on the top of the grille. seriously though, I hope that they put a real rear seat in it, rolls royce shouldn't be worried though, it's priced more like a 535i or E350 that a phantom, or even the new ghost. I bet it would sell really well in america, look at all of the people who convert their chrysler 300s to look like RR.
