C5 diccontinued

All the endless fuss about naming and renaming has come to naught as the Englon C5 twins have been discontinued (again!) and removed from the Geely Official site.

A hatchback EV however remains in production as a Kandi in the form of Gleagle K17A (successor to the K17 Cyclone, see preceding post).

I mis: Panda Cross, Free Cruiser, Englon C 5 Sedan and Hatch. It is possible that some of these are still in production for export, but not for sale in China.

C5 twins just launched in Argentina as "515", along with LC (Panda), LC Cross (GX2 = old face), and "Emgrand GS" (not the new crossover, but the EC7 sedan!)

New crossover

New "cross" based on C5 hatchback. The name is not legible, but could be "V5". Two grilles are shown.
Engine is 1.5 L/75 kW.

Dimensions and wheelbase are slightly up at (LxWxH) 4005 x 1760 x 1589/1560 mm and 2480 mm respectively.

This view of the rear is an amazing contrast to the view of the rear seen in #52 above.....,and what was the original Geely Englon SC5-RV hatchback of 2010 or 2011.
Indeed a very impressive remake of this model.
As for the grille of the new version, I prefer the horizontal grille to Horbury's (hotplate) style grille.

Some reports are claiming it will be called V3, inferring so from the same picture of the rear end.

Geely GC6 production in Iran

Production of the Geely GC6 has begun in Iran recently. The car, which retains the looks of the 2012 Englon SC6, is being made by Bam Khodro which is part of the Kerman Khodro group (other group companies make Chinese cars too). Bam Khodro has not been producing cars for a number of years but in the past had rolled out the Hafei Lobo and Volkswagen Gol.
