From China Car Times
Greatwall have jumped into the hatchback game feet first once they realized that SUV and Truck sales were about to fall through the floor. Their first model was the Great Wall Peri, which they followed up with the Greatwall Florid, the Coolbear and the soon to be unknown hatch.

Their first concept sedan was shown at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year where it surprised crowds with its funky looks, which appeared to be a mixture of sporty and formal, an unusual mix that worked just right for the usually bland designing automaker.

A leaked early version of a forthcoming Greatwall mini sedan has been leaked to the internet and early opinions are not good. The mini sedan seems to resemble the unknown hatchback mentioned earlier, with a notchback trunk attached to the rear. The sedan seems to have E-Class like folds in the door (although, every car has them now) and a Lifan 520 front end. It’s not clear where Great Wall are going with this one, perhaps its just best to bring out the sports concept sedan instead?

Re: Great Wall sedan

this is the same car which i saw,you can also see the automatic gearbox there also, the front lights will be updated, this test model had a light borrowed from wingle, hahha, this will be changed at the vehicles
Re: Great Wall sedan

Hehe. I can't wait! When is this expected to be launched?
Re: Great Wall sedan

headlamp masked carton, haha Chine
Re: Great Wall sedan

you didn't hear for concept models and before final production line products?
Re: Great Wall sedan

as far as chinese cars come, that's not too bad
Re: Great Wall sedan

The wheelbase of 2608 mm is larger than the Toyota Belta/Vios/Yaris sedan (2550 mm), so this is probably the first Great Wall which is not a clone! :thumb:
Re: Great Wall sedan

hi daewoo-chev, where'd you get the measurements on the car?
Re: Great Wall sedan

@ geralilio: In this article: http://www.autohome.com.cn/news/201002/93507.html
Autohome does give only the wheelbase of the car, there is no word about the length, width and height.
Re: Great Wall sedan

this is one of the testing car which was inside production area, if you look better you can see the headlamps from wingle, but in final production car will have different headlights, to me this car look like quite good and attractive sedan, by dimensions it's more competetive let's say like dongfeng s30 and similiar models
Re: Great Wall sedan

Hi Daewoo Rosmalen, it is Toyota Corolla. Dimensions of the CH041: LxWxH 4454 x 1740 x 1489; wheelbase 2608.
Groeten!
Re: Great Wall sedan

@ erik: Thanks for you comment! In that case I still won't take Great Wall seriously. I wonder if Great Wall is allowed to build certain of its clones in the Bulgarian factory...
Re: Great Wall sedan

anything new about this sedan? is it really the size of a corolla? if so, how can the dashboard of the phenom/i7 fit into this car, which is supposed to be smaller?
Re: Great Wall sedan

i dont know if it's the same... i think the code is the same CH041, plus the grill, but the interior is quite different. maybe they used the interior for the phenom temporarily for the mock-up
Re: Great Wall sedan

yes, this is the car, i got a invitation from gwm to bejing auto show, car will be presented there
Re: Great Wall sedan

so.... it's not the size of a belta/vios/yaris, and not the size of a corolla either... so it's not "inspired" by other cars? :D

corolla is 4,540 x 1,760 x 1,465, with wheelbase of 2,600 mm

this is 4454 x 1740 x 1489; wheelbase 2608.

so what car will this model compete with?

Re: Great Wall sedan

It seems like they'll have quite a few sedan concepts in the Autoshow:
