A prototype of a new hydrogen-powered vehicle was unveiled in Wuhan on the 20th.

Wuhan Grove New Energy Automobile Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Grove Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. are startups established in 2015 and 2018 respectively by the Wuhan Geological Resources and Environment Industrial Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (a minerals and materials co. itself funded by several Chinese angel investors) to develop high-quality and reliable hydrogen-powered cars for local and export markets. These companies are based in the East Lake (Donghu) New Technology Development Zone of Wuhan.

The new HFCV unveiled yesterday was designed by the Institute's Spanish design center in Barcelona. Work on the car project had started in mid-2016. It uses a lightweight carbon-fiber body. Structural integrity is maintained by an aluminum alloy/composite-material frame. It has a five-door low-slung fastback design with front and rear "scissors-type" tangentially-opening doors. Grove claims a cruising range of 1000 km for the prototype. The front end is somewhat reminiscent of the concept cars from Kinetic Hybrid. The car may be presented at the Shanghai Auto Show this year. Production will be undertaken by a subsidiary, Wuhan Grove Hydrogen Automobile Co., Ltd.. Dimensions, drivetrain and performance specifications have not been published.

"Grove" (格罗夫 geluofu) is named after pioneering physicist Sir William Robert Grove, considered by many to be the 'father' of fuel cells.

Yes, hatchback is OK too. Articles described the car as "溜背" which translates to "slip-back (sloping back)" or fastback (wiki). While at it, I should also perhaps correct myself in that the doors are more of the "butterfly" type, with the hinge/pivot appearing to lie at or below the base of the A-pillar.
