last year there was an article worldwide on big news sites about chinese cars everyday....when chery and geely were starting the hype of coming to AMerica...but for the last few months, international media doesnt really mention anything about chinese cars...do you think they got tired of the hype and realized it wont happen for another few years?

I believe its a case of overexposure & unfulfilled promise. Overexposure in the sense that there are so many new models from sometimes unknown makers that the int'l media lumps everything up in the another "chinese manufacturer comes up w/a copycat model" category. Unfulfilled promise in that some chinese makers are saying that they will break into the developed markets sometime soon, but never actually saying when. The mishandling of the MG ROVER purchase by two rival chinese manufacturers hasn't helped either. A big factor is the absence of personalities in the chinese auto industry; no Delorean, Iaccoca, etc. who can put a face to the Chinese auto industry.

ye and thanks to those media hype that russian autovaz rushed up with the Chery Amulet and German ADAC with the Brilliance BS6 to tame the waves. I really hate hype, more action less talks. Just prove yourself, don't rely too much on the media.

Since when the western media knows anything, got anything right, or stay neutral for that matter? Western media is full of BS, never trust them for anything - there's always a political agenda behind the story.

"Apparently, the dealer-investors in Visionary Vehicles are now suing Malcolm Bricklin to get their money back" - From Wikipedia.

Along with MG temporarily pulling out of the USA means that the "international" media isn't getting fed at the moment.
