No Trivia Tim, as you suspect, it isn't right.
Total vehicle exports for all of China in 2006 was 340,000 units, said Xinhua news agency last January, quoting a Ministry of Commerce official.
While Hafei continues to do well abroad, in 2005 they exported just 20,359 units. Maybe someone can give us the figure for 2006.
Note: Mr Song's export figure is also contradicted by the above figure given in another China Daily article of just a week ago.
