A small EV, inspired at least partially by the previous Suzuki Jimny, found in the latest MIIT Notice under Heron Auto.

Hunan Heron Automobile Co., Ltd., part of the Hunan Heron Hi-Tech group, manufactures special-purpose vehicles and machinery. They even had an unsuccessful try at making a pickup truck a few years back.

Power output is 32 kW. It is even possible that the manufacturer is somebody else and they are planning to utilize the license of Heron.

Hengrun HR S1

The HR S1 is equipped with a 28 kWh battery, giving it a range of 305 km (NEDC) owing to its low weight of 1020 kg unladen. Pilot production started in Xiangtan, Hunan, in January 2020 and six months later, the first deliveries have commenced. Retail figures show sales of 30 units in the first six months of 2020; these could be vehicles used for publicity, test drives, and so on. Officially no prices have been announced but online it is going for 59,800 RMB. The English brand name is Hengrun, not Heron.
