I understand that back in 2004 Honda's Atsuyoshi Hyogo, chairman and general manager of Honda Motor China Investment, accused Xinkai of also copying the CR-V, as Shuanghuan had done.

On December 10, 2004 www.indiacar.net said:
.....Honda Motor Co. said on Thursday it had filed a lawsuit against a second Chinese auto maker claiming it had copied Honda's CR-V sports utility's design and said it may bring suits against other Chinese car makers.
Japan's third-largest auto maker said it had brought a suit against Hebei Xinkai Automobile Manufacturing Co. which makes a vehicle called the SRV, arguing its design rights had been infringed......
Don't know what the outcome was but overall Honda seems a lot more agressive than Toyota in pursuing litigation in China.
Oh, and by the looks of some of the latest Xinkai models seen here on CCF, it seems that they might find themselves in court in the near future.

Daimler has their hands full with the Smart Fortwo lookalikes. Besides Shuanghuan and Flybo, hasn't Daimler A.G. also gone after CMEC of Suzhou, for its Electric City copy of the Smart Fortwo?
