How will Chinese car names take off in America (and Europe)?

I was just wondering, how do you think westerners will accept Chinese car names(brand wise)? I know we accepted Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, etc. , but they aren't from the same language. Plus some sound kind of silly to us (Geely, Gonow,etc.). Anyway, I'd like to hear what people think, because I can't decide. Oh, and another thing, what about Chinese characters written on the car (as on most Chinese cars).

Agreed.

I really think there's alot of potential right now in Chinese car names. If they come out with cool looking cars and have a big marketing blitz, I'm sure they can make it.

For instance, that green boxy Scion/Toyota lookalike from Great Wall Motors called CoolBear is something that has a nice ring to it. It's not fake like Toyota's xB or xA, those sound like they tried too hard to be "hip" to young people when they really aren't.

I've noticed that the Chinese still might have a bit of low self esteem and don't want to use their own brands yet don't realise, that with a good product a brand can really make it big in no time, just look at, say iPod. Those didn't exist a while back and now everything's an iPod. Also, Lenovo is doing pretty well dispite dual personality disorder with their IBM brand.
