This car share the platform with kia ceed which recently achieved 5 stars from Euro ncpa crash test. It comes with 1.6 vvt(13.8km/ℓ,auto) and 1.6 vgt (16.5 km/ℓ,auto,diesel) and 2.0 (both diesel and petrol) is expected to be available soon.

I think this car should be comparable with chery's A3 by size...

finally

finally, something from hyundai attractive enough to really desire:)
i dont like the grill it looks like a ripoff of the new honda civic grill

and i dont like the steering wheel and dash feels really hondaish (new civic), with a hyndai badge.
Yes, this looks like the 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring that has been talked about of late. Generally looks pretty good overall. I think a lot of Elantra buyers would buy a hatch or crossover of Elantra so I think Hyundai has a winner on their hands here.
Well the car looks good, but nothing like concept! I wish they made it more agressive and sporty.
But as of looks I still prefer Kia Cee'd and upcoming pro_cee'd three door!

Well as you know hyundai own KIA and they have so many duplicated product line which make them fight each other until now. And from i30 and ceed's case, I think Hyundai is trying to built the different character for Hyundai and Kia.

It seems like they're trying to make hyundai as the brand that can be accepted by the most of age, but Kia for the young.

hey just personal opinion
Hello admin and everyone!
Yes they are trying to differentiate both brands! Cars are built at the same platform, using the same engines.
The design is different and Kia alowes more sporty driving than Hyundai, which is more comfortable. You can feel this when you try Kia Cee'd and Hyundai i30. I did test both vehicles and like Cee'd more.
himi-thanks for the link on Yahoo! Kia to the Kia World website!

http://www.kia-world.net/index.php/2007/08/31/new-round-of-soul-spy-pictures/

Try the above link if you find that you're a Kia fan like himi and myself. I have owned two new Kia's and had very good results from my ownership experience and would've probably bought a '07 Kia Optima or '07 Kia Rio if Mitsubishi had not produced the gorgeous new Lancer GTS I bought for 2008.

I would no doubt feel the same as himi regarding the Kia C'eed or the Hyundai i30 test-drives, though both are refreshing new sights. They are also direct competitors to all of the Chinese carmakers that are working hard preparing to enter the tough NA car market. I wish them all well and hope to learn a lot more about them on this website.
