Nice comprehensive intro Martin. Fuqi got the old Toyota Land Cruiser dies quite awhile back and continues to make good use of them.

Jiangxi Huaxiang Fuqi Autos Co, Ltd is the sino—foreign joint venture.......
Huaxiang is indeed a big player in China, ranking among the top 500 private enterprises in China, and the top 500 auto parts makers in the world (China Business Weekly 05/01/13).
But who is the foreign partner of Huaxiang Fuqi mentioned here?
There was once a joint venture with China's Zhongxing Auto but that was short lived.

·Latest product in Huaxiang Fuqi as well as in China. More than three years for Fuqi factory to develop.
·Based on the qualified Fortune pickup chassis, much improvement have been made while major parts / components remains inter-changeable.
·Simplified front grill and cluster headlamps, especially the streamlined body make Hi-max a comfortable and harmonious look.
This short wheelbase double cab pickup (FQ1021) stands out among the hackneyed Isuzu-based (Fudi?) bodies shown in the other photos here. Is this Huaxiang Fuqi "Fortune", or is it "HiMax", pickup a self-developed product as indicated in the quote? If so let's hear some applause for Huaxiang Fuqi.

Thanks Martin for pointing that out. Your sharp eye woke me up to the fact that the Zhongxing Changling is identical. And yes, it would be nice to know the extent of any continued cooperation between the two companies.

In the meantime I have gone back to the Changling Intro thread and made a correction to my hasty and erroneous judgement there.

By the way, if Fudi is the body builder for both, they have yet to display this new body style on their website.
