In the Netherlands and some other European countries the Buick (Excelle) HRV was sold as Daewoo/Chevrolet Lacetti and the Buick Excelle as Daewoo/Chevrolet Nubira. However, in the UK the Nubira was called Lacetti sedan.
The current Buick Excelle is still based on the Daewoo/Chevrolet Lacetti/Nubira/Optra / Suzuki Forenza, while the Chevrolet Cruze is based on its successor, sold as Daewoo Lacetti Premiere in South Korea.

There are already spy shots of the USDM Buick Excelle sedan (Opel Astra I/Buick Yinglang sedan), I suppose that this car will succeed the current Excelle in China.
Also, the Buick Yinglang won't compete with the Volkswagen Polo (which is in Europe a competitor of the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa), but with the Golf VI.
