August 29, 2008 - Jiangling Motors plans to build a car factory in Poland to become the first Chinese automaker to establish a European plant, daily Rzeczpospolita reported on Thursday.

Representatives of Jiangling, 30-percent owned by Ford Motor Co, are to hold talks with Polish officials in September concerning the investment, the paper cited the company's top European official as saying.

The plant would produce 400,000 cars annually, outpacing the largest local producer Fiat Auto Poland, which manufactured almost 362,000 vehicles last year.

New facts about Landwind's factory in Poland.

September 4th, 2008 - China News Agency ‘China Knowledge’ has confirmed Rzeczpospolita’s news, that Jiangling Motors Corp (JMC) is planning to build an auto manufacturing plant in Poland. The new plant will be cost US$1.2 billion and set to produce 400,000 units of vehicles per year. Representatives of the Chinese auto maker will negotiate with officials from the relevant government bodies in Poland on the cooperation program in mid September.

It is not excluded, that the meeting will start on the next Tueasday during the International Trade of Commerce and Investment in China's Fujian Provence (Xiamen), where will be Waldemar Pawlak, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland. Yesterday he went to China at the invitation of Chen Deming, Chinese Minister of Commerce. As Rzeczpospolita has found out, JMC is one of more 150 companies, which step out to attend in polish-chinese business seminary with Polish Deputy Prime Minister.

Sylwester Szafarz, the former consul of Poland, said that Jiangling Motors Group Company has been interesting our country a long time ago. - We talked with representatives of the companies already in 2005 - says the former consul. Industry insider indicated that it will become the first manufacturing plant established by a Chinese enterprise in Europe, if the deal is nailed down.

JMC said in a statement that its Landwind series, which has a fairly good performance-price ratio, has passed the relevant tests in the country. The Landwind model got zero stars on five possible to get in ADAC crash test in 2005. Peter Bijvelds assures: - Our cars has already passed all the strictest tests of TUV and ADAC.
