Ceremonial line-off for the Seres SF5 in Chongqing took place today. The Chinese name for the brand is 金康赛力斯 (jinkang sailisi), so the previously announced 金菓 EV (jinguo) or "Golden Fruit" has been discarded.
Range-extended version, with a 1.5T 82 kW I.C. engine, type approved. MIIT describes it as a "Plug-in extended range hybrid". Two- and four-wheel drive models will be primarily powered by single or dual motors rated at 85 kW each (peak output N/A). There will also be a pure electric version producing up to 510 kW, but its official (regulatory) notification is pending.
There is now some clarity regarding the powertrain. Peak power and torque of the motor are 255 kW (347 PS) and 520 Nm; in a dual setup this yields 510 kW (694 PS, as mentioned above) and 1040 Nm. The REEV version, equipped with a 34.56 kWh battery and 1498 cc 82 kW (111 PS) engine, can run 150 km on electric charge alone. The pure EV version has a range of 502 km (NEDC) by virtue of an 88 kWh battery pack.
At the 19th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, Huawei announced that China’s automotive company SERES has launched an extended range electric vehicle-the new SERES SF5, and it will be available in Huawei flagship stores across China.
