2017 London Taxi Company TX5 (PHEV):

First picture published of the new London Taxi Company TX5, the next generation hackney carriage from Geely's UK subsidiary. This will be a plug-in hybrid with a range-extending ICE supporting the main electric motor.

Production is scheduled to begin in 2017 at a new R&D and assembly facility in Ansty Park, Coventry, where construction work commenced this past August.
It is not known whether simultaneous production of the car or any of its components or kits will take place in China as is done for the current TX4.

Also competing in this segment of the market will be the similar New Metrocab PHEV from the Kamkorp/Frazer-Nash and Multimatic groups.
