Cherys of Daewoo Origin

Daewoo Matiz : Current Matiz does not meet US crash standard, and QQ cannot be sold in the US because of GM lawsuits.

Daewoo Lanos : Lanos used to meet US crash test standard(barely) in the 90s, but it was discontinued and does not meet the current standard. Geely 7151CK, which uses Lanos chassis, failed the US crash test.

Daewoo LanosII(Aveo) : Aveo meets current US crash standard, but its design drawings are not available to Chery nor Geely.

Daewoo Magus : Magnus barely meets US crash standard, so Chery Son Of Orient will meet the US crash standard, but cannot be sold in the US due to legal issues(Design theft).

Cherys of Seat origin

Seat Toledo was never sold in the US and it is not known if they could meet US crash standard. My understand is that they do not.

Affected Chery vehicles are

Flagcloud
Windcloud
A11
M14

Cherys of Unknown Origin

It is not known where Tiggo chassis came from. This could be the first Chery's own attempted replication of another maker's chassis(Toyota). I have no information on how good this Tiggo platform is.

What I am interested in is the chassis that underpins the body of so called new Cherys.

Chery has not been able to prove it could design a chassis that meets the US and EU crashtest standards at all, instead ripping other's chassis designs.

The only chassis used by Chery known to be able to pass crash test is the Magnus chassis, but Chery is banned from exporting anything built off Magnus chassis into the US, as GM lawyers await them in court.
