Greetings
I normaly wouldn't post but i feel i must, i hear that MG are planning to charge REAL money for the TF. This is a mistake!.........People have become used to products from China at bargin prices.

They are quite happy for a last generation product if its priced well. Yes i know they intend to produce ( Fit the badges/polish away) the TF at Longbridge.

Clarkson will have a field day with this!

Still no deal, its old and made from cheapo China sourced parts.......Bargin price Yes, Real World price NO WAY!

NAG Will have to follow Skoda here, cheap to start, build prices with good will and build Q!

Fair point, but sales targets are a lot lower for the TF than they were. And if they keep prices high then it should help existing owners with residual values.

Personally I think they may do a Kia and offer a 7 year warranty. That to many people would represent as good a deal.

Nanjing really need to accelerate new model development. My question is does Nanjing have the cash?
Yes, that would help, but look 200BHP is the level now and i suspect the TF will have no more than 160. Mazda are about to up the BHP of the MX5, nope TF/2 Needs to be cheap.

I think that they are only aiming to sell 3000 - 5000 TF's a year. Bearing in mind they used to sell out at 15 000 then even with a smallish dealer network they should still be able to get decent money. It won't need to be all that cheap.
Been a while since you posted, Mega, old chap!
MG should absolutely price their cars at the same level, if not HIGHER than in the past (or the competition). MG should NOT compete on price, that's suicidal. Nothing brings a brand down faster than a low ball price.

MG though, must deliver on the quality, performance, and durability aspects of the vehicles. Dealer services must be tops too. A long warranty won't hurt either. People WILL BE willing to pay top dollars for great products and services.
Been rather busy Martin, how's the famliy?

How can we engineer a thread in which Puppetland and Mega go head to head in BATTLE OF THE SPASTICS?
What is Nanjing's price idea for sale in the USA?
Has the group from Oklahoma secured the USA rights and when will the first cars be available in the US?
