Here are the first day results of the Mohe Rally. Mohe is a place where temps can drop to -40 degrees celsius. A good place for cold testing.
Looks like the Chinese drivers have their work cut out for them to take the crown from the laowai on their home turf.
Some domestics made a good show at Dakar, but it must have been too cold to go to Mohe. :shrug2:

What kind of cars they use for such extreme weather? Do you have any more information on the rally, perhaps some pics or vids?

This year 2011, was the 8th annual race. It was held February 24-26 with about 60 entrants, and a total prize money of ¥136,000 ($20,700). But no word was found about the results. Despite the uniqueness of this rally very little info about it is communicated.
Perhaps Chinese manufacturers do not feel ready yet to subject their products to this kind of winter torture.

I wrote my own article about the Mohe Rally, using bits and pieces here and there:
http://www.leblogauto.com/2011/03/crc-wudalianchi.html

Apparently, a FAW-VW Golf got the outright victory. But there are many class in Chinese rally. So, many competitors got a class victory.

Surprisingly, all Chinese top team and their British or Swedish drivers were missing.

There weren't many "pure" Chinese manufacturer, only Chery and Youngman-Lotus.
