Well yes there has been news but its all been in Chinese.

And they also keep showing off their cars too:

If you are interested and don't mind reading computer translated text, see http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?goto=lastpost&t=82757 for the latest news.

There is a very detailed recent interview with the MG Project Director here: http://forums.mg-rover.org/showpost.php?p=1433354&postcount=1083

It takes too long for me to translate it properly.
Note - in those links:
  • Nanjing is translated as "Southern Company" or "South steam"
  • MG is translated as "city" or "Christopher"
  • "3 City" = "MG3", previously known as the "Rover 25"
  • "7 City" - "MG7", previously known as the "Rover 75"
  • Ask if there are any others you get stuck on
  • For those that can read Chinese, there are links to the originals

Is one of those cars a CityRover a rebadged Tata Indica

How many CityRovers/Tata's did they sell in england.
No - they are:

Silver - Rover Streetwise (Rover 25 - with SUV styling)
Grey - MG ZT
Red - Rover 75

Back to the CityRover, the mark 1 sold poorly since it was not much more than a badged Indica and not up to UK standards. The mark 2 is a big improvement and would have sold well except that MG-Rover went into administration just as the first shipload was arriving. However the remaining ones intended for MG-Rover are currently selling very well and Tata have announced that they will set up UK Tata dealers to continue sales.

"How many CityRovers/Tata's did they sell in england."
There are no figures for just England and I don't know where to find UK figures but the Europe (mainly UK) sales were:
2003-487, 2004-6150, 2005-1636

Not sure if 2005 includes ones not sold by MGR - ie the ones stuck on ships at administration and ones built since.

How much did the Tata Indica costs? And what kind of engine did it use? was it an Indian engine.
The price for CityRover started at 6000 pounds, I think, and Tata sells the Indica for about 4000 pounds in India.
The engine is based on an Peugeot engine.

And hello to Windy if you are reading this mail. ;)

Indeed :)

There are a lot of people called Andy in the world but I guess this one is a Nanjing fan who can read chinese! :thumb:

As for the CityRover engine, its OK but its not a MG-Rover engine which may be another reason it didn't sell too well. The following figures are a little supprising, they show how good the MG-Rover K-Series engine is!

CityRover engine:
Size 1.4 litre
Power 85Ps
Fuel Consumption 37.9 Miles per gallon

MG ZR (bigger car)
Size 1.8 litre
Power 160Ps
Fuel Consumption 37.6 Miles per gallon

Edit: I just noticed, in the picture there is also an MG TF sports car - there are so many people admiring it that I didn't see it before!

What is that picture of? cityrover? is it a SUV or wagon??
That car is a "Rover 25 - with SUV styling" as Windy said earlier.

That is NOT a 4x4, however. It is only a front wheel drive.
