It looks to me like Nanjing have got one over on SAIC AGAIN!!! 
Nanjing appear to have finshed off the NV6 which was the replacement for the K series V6 that MG Rover were developing. The new Nv6 is Euro IV compliant and more powerfull than the K series. In addition it is also supposed to be more reliable as the old K series had a few bugs with Head gaskets blowing. As far as I can see SAIC are planning to use exactly the same engine that Rover were planning to get rid of because of reliaiblity issues and lack of Euro IV compliance.
Oh by the way I forgot to mention that the MG NV6 engineering project was largely completed by Lotus....who are quite good at that kind of thing...
