New Gonow Holding Group (a.k.a. Daide Group) is a corporation based in Tongxiang, Zhejiang. It is principally engaged in the manufacture of trailers and in motorhome conversions, with a subsidiary in Australia as well (Regent Caravans).

Zhejiang New Gonow New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. is another subsidiary set up for venturing into NECVs (new energy commercial vehicles). New Gonow is making investments in new technologies, production systems, and manufacturing of components involved in building electric CVs. It has a vehicle test center and research lab for this purpose. Currently a manufacturing plant is under construction in Taizhou (Zhejiang) with a planned capacity of 90,000 NECVs per annum. Taizhou was also the headquarters of the old Gonow.

New Gonow is the second automobile venture of Miao Xuezhong, the founder and head of the original Gonow Auto, who also served as vice president of GAC Gonow for some time, eventually leaving the company in the hands of GAC. Now, New Gonow is resurrecting the Xingwang/Way as electric cargo/crew vans. Own production has not started but the vehicle has already been licensed (or offered) to a few other Chinese automakers: Dongfeng, Dayun and Wuhu Baoqi (Bodge/Boidge)

GAC has a storied association with small Chinese manufacturers like Gonow, as well as Changfeng (now Liebao), Zhongxing (fading fast), and even Chery in a small way.
Gonow and GAC began with a domestic joint venture in 2010, that later led to GAC taking full ownership of Gonow in 2016 for around $40million.
Gonow dealers were not happy about their loss, and demanded compensation.
According to reports GAC ceased production of the Gonow brand within a year and converted its plants to production of its own products.
It’s worth noting that none of GAC's tie-ups were ever as successful as BAIC's acquisition of Jiangxi Changhe.

I can't understand Dongfeng sourcing from New Gonow when it used to rely on Sokon (DFSK) for their small commercial vehicles and trucks. Perhaps with the new (burgeoning) status of Sokon's SF subidiary, the tie-up might not be as strong.

Dongfeng's "collection" of cargo minivans

Dongfeng's tieup with Sokon is intact, as far as jointly producing micro/minivans and minitrucks is concerned. It is just a matter of getting product, perhaps under favorable terms, from whoever is willing to supply.

Apart from New Gonow, look at the following cargo vans (note all are electric) sourced at one time or another by Dongfeng from:

DFSK

Jonway

Lifan

Shineray

Keyton

The Shineray connection with Dongfeng, took me by surprise. I would have thought Shineray's long standing joint venture with Brilliance Auto might pose a conflict of interest.
But nowadays as Li Shufu suggests, to survive in the auto industry of the 21st century, its a "no bars held" game.

Intact indeed.
Dongfeng Sokon's sales January to May 2018 are 169,000 units. You are right DMitra, it still looks strong.
