R1 will be renamed as Heimao (黑貓) meaning "black cat".

Perhaps Great Wall Motors wants to pay tribute to former leader Deng Xiaoping who famously quoted: "Bùguǎn hēi māo bái māo, zhuō dào lǎoshǔ jiùshì hǎo māo"*, a variation on an old Sichuan folk proverb. Deng was known to appreciate 20th century painter Chen Liantao, whose nature-themed artworks often featured cats as the subject.

Maybe I was right :). The name "好猫" (haomao) indeed is taken from the third "mao" reference in Deng Xiaoping's quote.

I like it too PGMJ. Forward of the A pillar, at first sight I saw an early Porsche 911.

Anyway D Mitra, I think the Haomao and the Baimao names can make it in the West, but because of cultural differences the Heimao might not catch on.
On the other hand changing it to Huaimao 坏猫 might go over well with mavericks there.

Looks like a Panamera that shrunk in the wash.
Apparently it was designed by a guy called Emmon Delta, who previously worked for... Porsche. Now he's Ora's head of design. I'm not sure about the name, maybe something was lost in translation to and from Chinese.

DMitra, I cannot view them either.

Separately, with regards Post #17, service personnel these days need to pay close attention to the positioning of the lift equipment, lest serious crushing of underside will occur.
