But Beijing is not just history, it is also the second largest city in China. Here is a pano of a portion of Beijing, but this is only a portion of the city. It is a huge city with very wide boulevards and large buildings everywhere.
The city is still booming. I was just there last summer, everything is building up to the 2008 Olympics.
Nanjing, China's Southern Capital. It was the capital of China during the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, and again, as the capital of the Republic of China (1912-1949) period. It is also the infamous place where the Japanese massacred over 300,000 people in a few short weeks. Today, it is the capital of Jiangsu province. It is a large city and growing prosperous.
