2015 Ziyoujian

The 2015 Ziyoujian, which is the Englon SC3 with a facelift, has started arriving at dealer lots.
The SC3 will continue alongside for some time though.

The SC3 itself was built on the same troublesome platform as the Ziyoujian (CK1).
I had hoped the old Ziyoujian would be abandoned and a new Ziyoujian. with an all new platform, capable of a five star crash rating, would be introduced.

Well, Geely´s problem is that the Ziyoujian is one of the best selling vehicles.

Erik, while that might have been true in the past, it is certainly not so anymore: sales are chugging along at ~1,000 units a month now out of a monthly average of 42500 (2015 till June, excluding Volvo) for Geely.

It does seem that the Chinese are so nostalgic for their old designs that they just can't let them go.

Correct me if I am wrong Erik and Dmitra, but the donor of this Ziyoujian platform is the archaic Daihatsu Charade, originally (borrowed) by Geely from Tianjin Auto Industrial, who built the Xiali model on it, as far back as 1986.
