Re: Sitech DEV1

Details about the car, its technicals, the on-board D-OS interactive smart suite that controls and is aware of everything, marketing plans, and the company in general. Bookings have opened for a limited number of cars.

The company, owned by different arms of the Gui'an New Area administration (it is state-owned), has a 5-year cooperation agreement with FAW. In the initial phases, the car will be produced in Changchun by FAW while Sitech's own base is under construction (also there is the little matter of the license).

Note China FAW script on rear left:

P.S.: The 250 billion RMB investment mentioned in the Gasgoo article above (post #1) is incorrect and absurd. The total investment is to the tune of 7 billion RMB.

Sitech DEV1

Sitech DEV1 launched, as in, actually launched on the market at the Chengdu Auto Show. That was quick for an EV startup!

At FAW Changchun:

Perhaps production cars will have the new logo.

I still can't fathom what's up with the dual logos; some cars have the new "downward-pointing shield" both outside and inside, some cars have one ("rightward-pointing arrowhead") on the outside and the other inside.

Sitech Qineng GEV1

The Qineng GEV1 (启能 GEV1) is a variant of the DEV1 which showed up on MIIT's Notice 318 in March. The car has modified front and rear bumpers, so the length has gone up by 1 cm. Now some more info has been published, which shows that there are no changes in motor, battery, or performance. Range is 305 km.

Sitech DEV Lite

A lower-cost version of the DEV1, with a range of only 150 km compared to the DEV1's 305 km. This will not enjoy subsidies; however, Sitech claims it can still be sold for around 60,000 RMB and cars like these will encourage people to opt for modern yet affordable new energy vehicles despite the gradual phaseout of subsidies.

Even as Sitech joined hands with Icona for car designing, engineering, and prototyping, the company has decided not to go ahead (or at least go slow) with its own plant in the Gui'an New Area (comprising parts of Guizhou+Anshun). A trial workshop and temporary office had been built at the site, but reportedly these have been closed at the end of 2018. Sitech feels its cooperation with FAW Car Co. is progressing well, and capacity is adequate to continue with consigned production at FAW (the agreement had been for five years anyway). Sitech has not elaborated on its plans for a second proposed plant site in Changshou dt., Chongqing.

Sitech announced the creation of a model line called "Tongchuan" (同创) series which will apparently include budget vehicles, presumably those produced/developed in partnership with the likes of FAW such as the DEV1, GEV1 or MEV 100. At the premium end will be high-tech Gyon vehicles (if that project with Gaffoglio at all goes anywhere). Additionally, with Icona, Sitech is working to introduce another series of affordable "intelligent" cars under the 'AEV' program.

Qineng is a (sub)-brand promoted by Chengdu Qineng Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., a JV between Sitech (itself a local government area-owned entity) and Chengdu City. According to the article, the GEV1 is aimed at the shared mobility services (ridesharing) market.

Sitech AEV

Lingbox (Lingbao) will supply its BOX model to Sitech on OEM basis, to be sold as Sitech "AEV" or "AEV S". Of note, the BOX is already being produced for Kandi as "EVBox" or "K27".

As we have discovered a few days ago, Sitech has also inked deals with JMEV to get two of the latter's models for sales under its brand.

Sitech Qineng GEV1

This one looks just like the regular DEV1. I don't see any of the changes (new bumpers, dark-colored trim up front) implemented on this car.
