I'm back from one week trip to China. I visted Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai.
I have seen almost all cars presented at this forum including for example Nio, Roewe W5, Istana, Hawtai and even Polarsun van. Unfortunately I could't take pictures of all interesting cars.
Those who are interested can check photos at:

Great photos, showing the real world conditions, for the cars we see in shows and showrooms.
Manufacturers take note of the environment that Chinese cars are exposed to. For example, the foldable side mirrors. There is now a trend to locate them on the doors instead of at the base of the A pillar. For some owners this does make a difference in tight quarters, like parking garages and narrow lanes.
Body paint stone chip, and scratch, resistance are also noteworthy. And how about tire sidewall torture, at the mercy of curbs.
I suppose it will still be awhile before pedestrians are able to take full possession of their sidewalks, for a relaxed walk in the city. Rome wasn't built in a day..... :-o
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for another look at the real aftermarket world.
As far back as 2008 Chery's then General Manager, Zhang Lin's words to the China Daily were: “The US is a stagnant market, while Russia and Ukraine are booming, almost as much as China."

I believe that the now defunct Geely CK was the best seller there in the Ukraine in the year 2012. According to wautom.com, 30,600 units were sold. You captured one on the sidewalk in No.10 of the previous page.

And although Xinkai faded from the light truck scene in China, there in No.9 we see the old Isuzu-based pickup...apparently still going strong.

As I mentioned, there were many Chinese cars passing by. Mostly old Chery and Geely cars, but also some newer models, Haval for example. No EV though. Gas is cheap there.

There is a interesting mix of old Russian, Western European, Japanese, American and Chinese cars in Ukraine. Whole world in single country. And Kiev is very beautiful city.
