Weichai Motor website has been updated to include VGV products on its top menu: the U70 and the long-awaited P80 pickup (which looks more to be the picture of a generic pickup instead of the stylish model we were expecting). The VGV logo is now featured prominently. The P80 pickup does not seem to have its own page as yet.

I saw an anouncement about cooperation betwee Sitech and Sinotruk, with this picture:

It says Sinotruk-VGV. I thought VGV was a Weichai brand. Are Sionotruk and Weichai connected? Has Sinotruk acquired the VGV-brand? Does anyone know?

To partly answer my own question: in september 2019 Shanghai Heavy Industry Group (parent company of Weichai Holdings) acquired a controlling interest in CNHTC (the parent company of Sinotruk). So Weichai and Sinotruk are connected.

Which leaves the question: was the VGV brand transfered from Weichai to Sinotruk or is it now a shared brand?

"Sinotruk VGV and Sitech"
Hi Leo,
I think that some commas were omitted from the sign, seen in the Gasgoo article.
Reading the article, my understanding is that Sinotruk is going to be handling components, management, and QC, while Weichai's VGV will have a role involving the " light vehicles" mentioned at their website below. I'm surprised that the article did not mention Weichai's VGV's role in this triad.
