Wow... I think I shed a tear while watching that... LOL!

Good commercial, If I may say so myself... :thumb:
What a stupid commercial - totally lame...

I'm not China-centric or anti-West/foreign, but what da h*ll does a bunch of white peeps doing in a commercial for China??? What does the landing of the moon (USA) and a stupid robot dog (Japan) have to do with China? Such a trite and pointless commercial... and this "White worship" in ads and commercials in China (heck, all of Asia) really has to go.
I think the point of the commercial is how far we all have come.
Just to point out advert was directed by an American, I do not know why all people were white??

AXLE I too shed a tear LOL, I think something like this should be made here in Australia for any brand, although it did take 4mins & 38 secs which is long for an ad :)
I don't see any white worship in this commercial. They showed a lot of people many of which were asian (chinese im assuming). The guy writing on the floor, the kids on the wooden airplane, the girl in the car, the kid on the bike, the little girl running up the steps... they were all asian.

I enjoyed the video, thanks for posting. My fav part is from 3:32 - 3:40. That was beautiful
What the hell are you talking about "white worship" I watched the add and saw nothing but asians mixed in with historic events that used technology, are you so insecure about asian culture that they cant look and act like average humans and not stereotypes? I saw asian buisness men, asian parents, asian children an asian dog, all going about a normal life.
I thought it was a great add, good music and good cinematogrophy, it didnt make anyone a stereotype nor did it pander. Dont be so caucasian phobic watch the add again and see what I was talking about it was just a good add.:nono:
i thought the commercial was ok, BUT ..WHY IS THE SONG IN ENGLISH?? HOW MUCH % OF CHINA KNOWS ENGLISH compared to mandarin/cantonese

I think someone dubbed over the original with an English song.

For Chinese members to answer or anyone that knows Chinese.

Either you're a white supremacist or a white-washed sellout. (Haha, I'm really not that extreme, but you get the point. :D )

This is suppose to be a commercial for China, yes? If you want to show the diversity of people in China, well hell, there are 54 ethnic groups in China, where the hell are the other 53 groups??? If you want to show the diversity of people from around the world - which makes no sense in a commercial for China - where are the Black people? The Latin people? Middle Eastern? Indian? Samoans? Why ONLY INCLUDE White people??????? Don't you see the hypocrisy in it? And again, wtf does the US moon landing and Japan robot dog have to do with China???

Totally retarded and sellout commercial. Never buy a VW.
Heart Directed by Dan Mintz of www.dmgmedia.com

Released in 2004.

This is my favourite VW ad of all time :D

ps came across info that the song was not dubbed over, what you see & hear on YouTube is all original ;)
