Typically forums that center around cars or politics are sausage parties.

If you want chicks, go to a forum about dating or interior design.
well if there are female profetional drivers, etc, etc then there should be girls interested in cars

Well done - a lass into cars!!!

Me:
Gender: Male (sorry another one!!)
Age: 32
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland UK.
Born: England (but my wife is Scottish born Chinese - does that make her an SBC???!!!)

Currently studying a Masters in Chinese Studies - this includes a year and a half crash course in Mandarin! I worked in motor sport before going back to Uni. Currently researching technology transfer in China using the automotive industry as a basis for case study.

Cars I own:
'76 Opel Commodore GSE, Transit MK1 Pickup, '69 Triumph Spitfire/GT6 hybrid. Some interesting cars I've owned in the last two years: Messerschmitt KR200, BMW Isetta, Rochdale Olympic, Berkeley SE328, Riley 1.5, Bedford CA van custom with a 2.8l V6 - the original had a 1500cc!! 2 Suzuki Cappuccino's.

Bit of a car nut really who likes the more oddball stuff, but it still has to have real design!!

Male, 28.

Born in china but spent 80% of my life in US.

Energy trader, Houston, TX.

My car: Lexus GS300 (05)
My wife's car: Honda Pilot EX (04)

By the way, I will sell both of them as soon as Chery arrives here in 08 or 09. I'll get a coup myself and get a Chery SUV for my wife. I do expect the initial quality to be somewhat patchy but I gotta do what I gotta do and I can afford it.

I'll put my money down as soon as dealers start taking orders. I'll then make a video clip and post it on YouTube, hopefully i will be the first.

I'm pretty sure hater is a bloke. he's still at college, probably age 19-22 ish. knows lots about cars and the car industry, provided you make the assumption that everything you find on the internet can be assumed to be true.

current auto: 2003 Saturn Ion

I am interested in good value for the money. I believe that certain Chinese made cars will offer more for the money.

Age - 33
Sex - Male
Location - Shanghai, China
Ethnicity - Chinese

Now I am working for a German auto parts supplier.

I just registered a minute ago.

I found this forum through yahoo search. I am interested in car, especially in recently 3 years when China's own car industry are growing.

I have better command of English compared to normal Chinese. But when I am coming in this forum, I am dispointed that I find it not easy for me to fully understand what you are talking. So, I have to use translaiton software.

I will be very pleased to be your bridge to China cars.

Ethnicity - 1/2 Chinese, 1/4 German, 1/8 Scot, 1/8 Irish
Nationality - American (and quite nationalistic, too)

I have nothing against chinese cars, but their remind me of Korean ones, nicely styled, poorly designed. I'm interested to see how they preform in the U.S. market, and I'm even more interested in seeing Chinese stereotypes of Americans fall flat on their face in the form of marketing failures. To succeed in the American market, mainland chinese will have to learn about the American people in ways they probably don't realize yet, and I expect they will discover a lot of their pre-concieved notions about the United States are false.
Very interesting quote - do you mind telling us what this "stereotype of Americans" Chinese people hold? I honestly can't think of any!!!

On the flip side, there's a ton of negative stereotypes Americans hold against the Chinese (Asians). Don't get me started on that...

Looking for-63.5 Ford Galaxie, 1964 Ford Fairlane or 1964 Chevy Belair to build into a pro-touring ride.

occupation- Automotive design, engineering and business development strategy development specialist.

I know for a fact, once Chinese companies start to figure out how to make original cars, and what type of cars will sell well in the US they will be the next group of Toyota/Nissan/Honda type companies. I am sure a few of them will secure top ten spots within 25 years. What we will have is a list of top ten automakers that will have makers from Japan, Europe, US, Korea and China.

I am part of a mixed ethnicity family and don't have reservations or stereotypes about Chinese people, I have however had many bad business experiences including doing design work that I was never paid for. I think it is ironic that Chinese talk about honor and so-on, yet I hear a lot of horror stories about people doing work and not getting paid.

Complete newbie to this forum so I thought to introduce myself ;)

I'm 22 years old, living in Belgium, I read Accountancy-Fiscality, pretty fluent in English though Dutch is my mother tongue, besides from being a petrol head I'm a complete music nut, don't have a car at present (once had an incredibly slow Audi 80 1600D but that's it up til now ).

Ever since I first heard about Chinese cars I got interested, especially with the joint-ventures most use and thus I've tried to keep myself as up to date as possible (though that seems to be hard to do from Europe), only had one real life encounter with Chinese cars when they were doing a grand tour of Belgian Cardoen motor supermarket showrooms, wasn't really impressed but I'm sure there's loads of potential coming from China!

There's this ancient Rule of the internet which says it's allergic to truth, reason and humour :p

34 male, born in Taiwan, grew up and living in US (CA). 100% Chinese ethnicity. A big car nut. My favorite (and most troublesome) car was the Porsche 944 Turbo. For years yearned for a Chinese made car; will be the first in line to buy one. If I have the knowhow, will even open a dealer (got the money but no knowledge).

cool, I have same idea to buy the first Chinese car in USA if possible,
Visionary Vehicles is planning to import Chery into US, they are recuiting dealers.
But I don't have no money to open a dealer neither knowledge. :)
