^Agree.
The only way I see this benefiting the Chinese is if they buy Chryslerberus. I'm betting Chrysler will be parted out this year, and if a Chinese company buys some of the pieces (i'm thinking Jeep & Chrysler, dump Dodge), they would have factories, parts, dealers, established labor pool and more to help them get started. Then just tag on BYD, CHerry, or whoever to the dealerships and you have instant cred & advertising. They could position the Chinese cars to compete with Ford & Chevy, while the rebadged cars would be called Chrysler to compete with Cadillac, Lincoln & the like. Chinese designed cars could be built here in the existing factories with some existing pasts "cross platforming" from their current vehicles. Update and rebadge a Chrysler Sebring as a BYD e10 and you have a Chinese car that will sell in the states.
Seems like an easy way into North America, eh?
