Wuling has begun pilot production of vehicles at their their brand-new manufacturing complex in Cikarang, Indonesia. The "Confero S", the local version of the Hongguang S1 Zunxiang, was previewed this past week. Prices have not been announced and the company is in the process of setting up the distribution network. The 7/8-seat people-mover is powered by a 1.5 L/107 PS engine.
Sales have begun, and in addition to the Confero S (available in two trims), Wuling is also offering a base model Confero (no "S") which is equivalent to the standard Hongguang S1.
Wuling's local arm launched the Formo, a commercial variant of the base Confero, in cargo-hauling panel van (blind van) and minibus (7/8-seater) formats. The 8-seater is provided with a smaller, auxiliary seat placed leftmost in the middle row instead of a full bench for three.
Whereas the Confero/S is powered by a 1.5 L 107 hp engine, the Formo comes with a 1.2 L 77 hp unit.
New-generation Hongguang V launched. This was supposed to have been introduced as the second-generation Rongguang V from previous MIIT-published information.
